This Week’s Notable Saints

Wednesday, October 9th, we celebrate the following two saints:

• Saint Dennis (Also called Dionysius) was the first bishop of Paris. He is a martyr and also is the patron saint of specifically, Paris, and France, as a whole.
• Saint John Leonardi founded the Congregation of Clerics Regular of the Mother of God, today numbering about 115 members; he formed the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine, and published a compendium of Christian doctrine in use until the 19th century; with Philip Neri, Saint John co-founded the Collegio Urbano in Rome. In addition, Saint John trained priests for foreign missions.
