Mother's Day Prayer:

Loving God,
as a mother gives life and nourishment to her children, so you give life and care for your Church. Bless these women, as we celebrate this day in their honor. May they be strengthened as Christian mothers. Let the example of their faith and love shine forth. Grant that we, their sons and daughters, may honor and appreciate them with a spirit of profound respect.

May the example of Mary, mother of Jesus, inspire them to live their vocation as Christian mothers and call their children to faith. Guide and protect them in challenging times and help them to continue to trust in you all the days of their life.

Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

From the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of Jesus, to the countless mothers who have nurtured and guided their children in faith, we recognize the sacred role mothers play in our lives and in the world.

To all the incredible mothers and mother mother-figures out there, Happy Mother's Day!

May your day be filled with love, laughter, and countless blessings.

May 13th

Starting on May 13, 1917, the Blessed Mother appeared on the same date for six straight months to three shepherd children in Fátima, Portugal.

Among other things, her message was intended to increase devotion to her Immaculate Heart and to encourage praying the rosary daily for peace in the world.

Feast Day: May 14th

May 14th is the Feast of St. Matthias, Apostle and Martyr.

After the Ascension of Jesus, St. Peter proposed to the assembled faithful that they choose a disciple of Christ to fill the place of the traitor Judas in the first missionary band. Lots were drawn, with the result in favor of Matthias. According to one ancient tradition, this missioner labored in Ethiopia and was martyred there. Thus did St. Matthias receive "the crown of life which God has promised to those who love him."

The Church venerates St. Matthias on an equal footing with the other Apostles, whose voices resound throughout the world, from generation to generation, giving testimony of what they saw and heard in their life with our Lord.

We are reminded that we are all called to be good stewards of the gifts God has entrusted to us. Like the Good Shepherd, we are invited to care for others with love and generosity. Let us respond with grateful hearts by sharing our time, talent, and treasure in service to the Church and those in need.

“The disciples were filled with joy and the Holy Spirit.” - ACTS 13:52

The disciples heard Our Lord s call and were able to spread the Gospel message with strength and vitality. We, too, can experience that same joy if we allow the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts. When we use our gifts as God intends, Jesus fills his Stewards with supernatural joy. A joy that others notice and are attracted to!
