A Memo from the Outreach Food Pantry

As this Ministry begins the new year, we reflect on what has transpired over the previous year and we are filled with wonder at the assistance that we have received in our effort to help the needy families of our parish.

We again want to recognize those who have helped us, first are you the parishioners who have stood alongside of us with tangible solidarity since the beginning of the pandemic. Then we have the Hallandale Beach Police Department which each year donates the turkeys for the Thanksgiving Pantry. Next there are our commercial donors Broward Meat and Fish, the Publix at Oakridge on Griffin Road, and Winn-Dixie on East Hallandale Beach Blvd, all of which contributed to our ability to give a very generous Christmas distribution. Without all of you we would have greatly reduced the food supplies that we have been able to give away. May God bless each and every one of you for your charity.

A special request of those who bring packaged and canned goods to the church for the Pantry. Please, do not bring items whose recommended date of use is expired. We cannot distribute expired items, so these most often end in the trash. Additionally, it is extremely difficult for us to inspect the dates for each individual item among the thousands that we give out. So please keep this in mind for future donations.

For food donations we are in need of canned soups, mixed fruit, Chef Boyardee, rice, marinara sauce, pasta, cookies, crackers and kids snacks. The method to donate funds remains the same.
