The Good Shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

Thursday, April 18, 2024

Sunday, April 21st.

Lord Jesus Christ, eternal High Priest, You offered yourself to the Father on the altar of the Cross and through the outpouring of the Holy Spirit gave Your priestly people a share in Your redeeming sacrifice. Hear our prayer for the sanctification of our priests. Grant that all who are ordained to the ministerial priesthood may be ever more conformed to You, the Divine Master.

May they preach the Gospel with pure heart and clear conscience. Let them be shepherds according to Your own Heart, single-minded in service to You and to the Church and shining examples of a holy, simple and joyful life. Through the prayers of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Your Mother and ours, draw all priests and the flocks entrusted to their care to the fullness of eternal life where you live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

Feast Day April 25th.

May God give us, like Mark, the wisdom and grace to preach the Gospel of Christ:

O God, who raised up Saint Mark, your Evangelist, and endowed him with the grace to preach the Gospel, grant we pray, that we may so profit from his teaching, as to follow faithfully in the footsteps of Christ. Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

St. Mark is the patron saint of lions, lawyers, Venice, interpreters, and prisoners.

ABCD - Stewardship

The more deeply one grows in love for God, the more one grows in heart to see stewardship as a way of life. Stewards see everything good as gifts received from God and they respond in gratitude with the gift of self.

“I am the good shepherd. A good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. A hired man, who is not a shepherd and whose sheep are not his own, sees a wolf coming and leaves the sheep and runs away, and the wolf catches and scatters them.”
- John 10:11-12

To be good stewards, we must be good shepherds, willing to lay down our lives for those committed to our care, not mere hired hands who run off, “leaving the sheep to be snatched and scattered by the wolf.”

As of today, we would like to provide an update on our parish’s performance for the 2024 ABCD.

Please find below a summary of our parish’s progress:

  • Parish Goal: $97,062.00
  • Total Gifts: $76,692.00
  • Gift Over/Under: $20,370.00

Parish Registration +

Friday, July 1, 2022

To be considered an active/participating member of the parish and eligible to receive a sponsor eligibility certificate or a parish verification letter for your child, St. Matthew asks that you be registered in the parish for at least three months, attend Mass regularly and show a commitment to stewardship of time, talent and treasure. Attendance at Mass is the most meaningful way we model and live our Catholic faith. The use of weekly offertory envelopes or online giving are the primary means of determining if parishioners are attending Mass. Kindly place your envelopes in the collection basket each Sunday even if you cannot make a monetary contribution.

Registration forms are available online or by calling the parish office (954) 458-1590.

Registration is required before the parish can issue a sponsorship certificate for those asked to be a sacrament sponsor. You must be a registered, contributing member for at least three months before a certificate is provided.
